Monday Continued, and Tuesday

So we drove back to Bejoe with Arri, and she threw up all over me. She let out a huge projectile vomit, the result of getting too hot and being carsick. Solomon was so sweet about the fact that he puked on his van seats, and I learned a lesson about always traveling with a change of clothes in hand!

When we got back to Bejoe, we quickly realized that Arri had grown a lot since we had last seen her. In October, when she was 8 months old, she was not able to crawl or stand up. By December, she was off to the races, and she could pull herself up in her crib and shake it to let us know that she was awake.

When families take placement of their children, they are asked not to travel out and about with them. So, you won't see many pictures of us sightseeing in Addis, because we didn't do much of that on our second trip. We spent almost all of our time at Bejoe, playing with Arri. There were two other families staying at Bejoe that week, and we enjoyed getting to know them and their little ones!

Because we were in Addis on an "off" week for Gladney (meaning, we were the only family with an Embassy date that week), we took placement, went to the coffee ceremony, went to the Embassy, and met Arri's birth family, by ourselves (with Gladney staff present), but not as part of a group. Normally, Gladney families travel as a pack to all of these events, but our circumstances were different, thus we had a lot of solo time with Arri and the Gladney staff.
